This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you how much of the width in your own face is muscle, how your two sides compare, or whether treatment is appropriate for your health or your circumstances.
The effect reverses by design
The muscle is quietened rather than damaged, so it recovers and the width returns over a period of months unless the habit that enlarged it has changed. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting that continuing treatment produces a result that holds, or that stopping and starting again is a problem.
No outcome is promised
No treatment can be promised to produce a particular result. How much of the width the muscle explains, how the two sides respond, how long the effect lasts for one person rather than another, and how chewing feels afterwards all vary. The result is judged at a review against your own earlier photographs rather than against anyone else's.
Chewing, smiling and swallowing
A change to the smile and tiredness with hard food are the effects patients most often notice, and both usually settle as the effect fades. Difficulty swallowing, a weakness that spreads, or a problem with breathing is not an expected effect of this treatment and needs medical attention rather than a wait.
